History:
This engine was used to power a ammonia compressor for refrigeration at Mountain View Dairy in Long Beach, Cal. The engine was remove and donated to the museum in 1972.

Only one cylinder is used for power the other cylinder is used to compress air.

History:
Although the nameplate is marked Western Enterprise engine co. according to the book "The History of the Western Engine Company" this engine was manufactured by Bessemer engine.
Used for compressing air for starting engines like the Western 80
