Cylinder fitted with water jacketed auxiliary exhaust port, which reduces the temperature of the gases passing through the exhaust valve. Made with both high and low compression head. In general the high compression head was used for the lower grades of gas and the low compression head was used for the higher grades of gas. Valves are the poppet type. Open directly into the cylinder or combustion chamber. Both inlet and exhaust valves are contained in cages which can be easily removed.

History:
This engine was belted up to several oilrigs out in the oil fields of Southern California. The type K could also be found in all kinds of pumping, irrigating and general power work. The ideal Type K was made in sizes of 20, 25, 30. 35 and 40 horse power.
